All of this is carried out as part of a regular, ongoing visit rather than as separate jobs. I don’t take one-off work, because I would rather get to know a garden and how you want it looked after. There is more about how I work, and what I charge, on the about me page.
General border maintenance
Weeding, edging, cutting back and mulching, done a bit at a time across the year rather than as one big clearance. A border that gets worked on every visit never reaches the state where it needs rescuing.
Mowing
Cut through the growing season as part of a regular visit. I don’t offer mowing on its own.
Planting
Putting in new plants, and moving ones that aren’t thriving where they are. Because it happens within your regular visits, gaps get filled as they appear instead of waiting for a separate job.
Pot maintenance
Watering, feeding, dead-heading and replanting containers through the season. Pots dry out and run short of food far faster than beds do, which is exactly why they suit a regular visit.
Pruning
Done with hand tools wherever I can. A petrol hedge cutter is quicker, but it tears leaf edges so they brown off afterwards, and most shrubs have a natural shape that is worth working with rather than against.
Weeding
By hand. I am not able to apply weedkillers for you commercially — that needs a qualification I don’t hold — so beds are kept clear by pulling and hoeing on each visit.
If that sounds like the kind of arrangement you are after, get in touch. Please read the notes on rate and area first — they are on the areas covered page.
